Introducing....
Verushka Pillay and Jo Ennion
Verushka Pillay
Verushka will be working full time at our Botany clinic from
8 April. She has a Master of Audiology degree from the University of Auckland and is excited to soon be working clinically. Verushka is originally from South Africa and moved to New Zealand in 2004. After completing a science degree, she worked as a lab technician. In this role she found that she missed people interaction and this led her to pursue a career in Audiology.
In Verushka’s Master’s thesis she found that when wearing a hearing aid in the opposite ear, cochlear implant users have an advantage in determining where sounds are coming from, compared to when wearing their cochlear implant alone. In her spare time Verushka enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, shopping and socialising with friends and family, and her dog!

Jo Ennion
Jo
will be
returning to audiology after recently being on maternity leave.
She completed her Master of Audiology degree at the University of Auckland in 2006. She worked in the public sector until 2008 before travelling to and working as an audiologist in Cork, Ireland.
Jo really enjoyed travelling around Europe,
visiting many different countries, learning different languages, and experiencing different cultures. She came back to New Zealand in January 2009 and worked briefly as a locum in the public sector again before having her first child in April 2009. She’s really looking forward to working at the Manurewa branch of Russell Hearing from April 2010. Jo is half Chinese and speaks Mandarin.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, walking
and playing the piano.
