$9,000 raised
for Listen Up
In 2008, hearing aid manufacturer Unitron developed the idea of bringing clinicians and staff in the hearing industry together for
a weekend of fun and fitness, and to raise money for a nominated charity.
Each year, the Muster is run in conjunction with a marathon event in New Zealand. Participants choose which event to complete – 5km, 10km, the half marathon or marathon. Whatever the distance, the end goal is the same: obtain sponsorship to raise as much money as possible for a nominated charity.
The fundraising effort this year was for Listen Up, a hearing loss programme going into schools to educate our younger generation on ‘how loud is too loud’, with a focus on preventable hearing loss.
Five staff from Russell Hearing (Charmaine Cole, Emma Russell, Verushka Pillay, Jo Ennion and Lisa Wong), who were ably supported by Debbie Richardson, travelled to Rotorua to compete in the 5 or 10km run/walk which was held on Saturday 1 May.
The Russell Hearing team had a wonderful weekend away and the Unitron Muster raised in excess of $9000 for the Listen
Up programme.
On behalf of Listen Up, thank you to all of our clients who contributed to the fundraising, what a fantastic effort.
